I attended my first Mary Kay party in June of 2010 to support a friend who had become a beauty consultant and maybe buy a couple of items. When I returned home that night, I had signed on as a consultant and purchased a filled travel-roll-up bag. Saying that my husband was surprised would be an understatement! But it was something that I strongly felt that God led me to do, and as it turns out, it was a great decision!
I am a home-schooling mother of six children, and as you can imagine, there is precious little free time in my life. However, I can work my buisness around our family's lifestyle and uphold the Mary Kay ideal of "God first, family second, career third." I also found that the time I was able to spend enjoying time with other women while doing facials or parties was so much fun and such a welcome break from my normal day-to-day routine.
Within six months, I was really enjoying my business and not only building a nice customer base, but building a team of wonderful women to work with. I was also growing in my faith and as a person. I gained confidence and organizational skills. Over the next couple of years, as my children grew, so did my business. More sales, more team members, more excitement about this career opportunity.
On November 1, 2012, I was promoted to the position of Independent Sales Director, and within a month I should finish qualification for my free Mary Kay car! This is such a busy and exciting time for me as we continue to build our unit. I am so grateful to the women who guided and mentored me through this process. And now I get to share what I have learned and help other women build a sucessful business of their own.
This is not a "get rich quick scheme". It takes effort. You have to push through some fears and obstacles that you may face. But the rewards are so worth it! And as I have found, it is not really about being a good salesman and selling lipstick, it's about building relationships with other women. For me the sales and the team have just grown as a result of treating people like I'd like to be treated.
It gives me great joy to share this opportunity with other women - to tell them the advantages to have your own business, to tell them about all the recognition and rewards that this company offers, to tell them about the tremendous personal growth that you can experience, to tell them about the money that can be earned. It is a very unique oportunity and I am so blessed that someone shared it with me.
If you would like any more information, I'd love to share it with you!
